Halfway Through the Year—Now What? It’s hard to believe we’re six months into the year! As summer begins and we look toward the close of 2025, I’m reminding myself to finish well—and finish faithfully. Here are three things I’m leaning into to help me do just that: Sit in silence. Planning doesn’t always mean pen to paper. Sometimes, it means letting your heart breathe and your mind wander in the presence of God. When we sit quietly, we make space to dream with Him, to hear His voice, and to be reminded that He’s already writing the story. Reflect on the past. The first half of the year holds lessons—some joyful, some hard. But reflection is holy. When we pause to consider what worked, what didn’t, and where we need growth, we make room for God to reveal what needs to change. Growth comes in the pause. Trust God with today. This is my daily work. Trust doesn't come easily for me. But I’ve realized that when I try to hold too tightly to my own plans, I leave no room for the ones God has for me. Letting go and trusting Him opens the door to what He’s prepared. He’s faithful—and so much better at being in control than I am. It may not sound “productive,” but trust me—it is. The one thing I love to do after a week of business and redirect is making my favorite meal, breakfast. I love breakfast! I could eat it day and night or night and day. The smell of bacon and coffee. The sight of fluffy pancakes being made on a grill. The whole process brings so much joy and memories. Spending weekends at my grandparents house meant a full breakfast each day. My grandmother would be get up early to make the coffee and start the breakfast. By the time we got down to the kitchen it was a symphony of smells and sights. She always made a full breakfast that would fill anyone's belly. When I make a full breakfast those are the memories that flood back to me.
